Kite flying is great fun, but there are a few Thou Shalt Nots. Let's get them out of the way and move on to the fun stuff.

Thou shalt not fly thy kite near buildings or trees.
|
|
|
They will only cause turbulence and ruin the fun.
|
|
|
Thou shalt not fly thy kite near power lines.
|
|
|
You'll be embarrassed when you have to call the power company to get your kite down. Besides, the wait will cut into your your flying time.

|
|
Thou shalt not fly thy kite near a busy street.
|
|
|
Kites and traffic don't mix. Remember, if your kite causes an accident, you pay.
|
|
|
Thou shalt not fly thy kite in rain or thunderstorms.
|
|
|
Ben Franklin aside, flying a kite in a storm is a good way to get killed. That really ruins the fun of kite flying.

|
|
Thou shalt not fly thy kite within three (3) miles of an airport.
|
|
|
I know, I know. The winds are probably great there, but the FAA says "No Way" and the Feds can really ruin your fun.
